After QuantumOps is updated, a banner offers the release notes for the new version. This page explains the banner, the release notes dialog and where to see which version you are on. Every signed-in user sees the banner.
The update banner
The banner reads QuantumOps has been updated and shows the version number. It appears for each person after an update, and the first time a person signs in. It stays until you hide it for that version.
The banner has two buttons:
- What's new opens the release notes dialog described below.
- The close button (Dismiss) hides the banner for the current version. It does not come back until the next update.
The dialog never opens on its own. The banner is the only place that opens it, so read the notes before you dismiss the banner.
Read the release notes
- In the banner, select What's new. The What's New in QuantumOps dialog opens with the current version and its build date at the top.
- Read the notes. They are grouped by version, newest first, and inside each version by category. Within a category the notes follow the order TechPulse set.
- To stop the banner for this version, tick Don't show this again for this version.
- Select Got it, thanks! to close the dialog.
Closing the dialog without ticking the box leaves the banner available, so you can open the notes again.
The categories, in the order they appear, are Breaking Changes, Security Updates, New Features, Improvements, Performance, Bug Fixes and Documentation. Each note has a title and a short description.
If the notes cannot be loaded, the dialog says so; close it and try again later. The dialog lists notes for every version, so it is also the history of earlier releases.
See which version you are on
- The foot of the sidebar shows the build version and its date. When the sidebar is collapsed to its narrow rail, it shows the version only.
- Every page of this help center ends with a footer that names the build the page describes. If the build in the footer differs from the build in your sidebar, the page may describe a different release.
The browser extension
The browser extension has its own version number and its own update notices: a banner in the side panel, the version in the panel's status bar and an Updates section in the extension's options. See The QuantumOps browser extension for how updates reach each kind of install.
