Finding your way around
A tour of the QuantumOps header, sidebar, notifications and banners, and what to check when a link is missing or a page refuses you.

Most QuantumOps screens share one frame: a header across the top, a sidebar down the left, and your page in the middle. This page names the parts of that frame and explains why a link can be missing, or can take you to a page that refuses you. Dashboards that run inside HaloPSA, public survey pages and a few other screens have no frame (see Switch between light and dark).
Use the header
From left to right, the header holds the controls below. Some appear only when a module is on for your organisation.
On a phone, below 768 pixels wide, the header keeps the navigation button (Open navigation and Close navigation), Support (or Feedback where support chat is not set up), Processing or Paused (shortened to its icon), Notifications, the Q-Notice count and the theme button. Everything else moves into the More actions menu (its button shows the number of pending override reviews): Employee timeclock, New call, Override reviews, Multi-user management, StackJack integration, Settings, Get help, Suggest an idea (where support chat is set up) and Log out, with your organisation and account shown at the bottom.
Find a page in the sidebar
Home opens the QA Pipeline. See Home: the QA Pipeline. Browser Extension opens the install page for the browser extension. See The QuantumOps browser extension. Help center opens the help center in a new tab; where none is set up it opens the QuantumOps documentation, or the Support page if that is not available either. See Getting help. Every other link sits under one of five headings: Dashboards, Hubs, Analytics & Reporting, Configuration and System. The headings show only while the sidebar is expanded. The Dashboards heading appears only when the Call Center Operations or CSAT & Surveys module is on. The Hubs, Analytics & Reporting and System headings appear only when your role can open at least one link under them.
On a phone, Open navigation in the header slides the sidebar over the page, always with full labels. Selecting a link or pressing Escape closes it. At the bottom of the sidebar, the footer shows the version and build date of QuantumOps.
The sidebar follows two rules: a link appears only when its module is on for your organisation, and a link appears only when your role can open the page behind it. A link that every signed-in user can open always shows. The last column below says who can open each page. Roles and access is the authority for that column.
Work out why a link is missing or refused
For the checks to work through when a link is missing or a page refuses you, see When a menu item is missing or a page refuses you. Role changes apply at your next sign-in; sign out and in to pick them up now (When role changes apply).
A sidebar link is hidden from anyone whose role cannot open its page, so following a link in the sidebar does not lead to Access Denied. If a link you expect is missing, your role does not open that page; the table above says which roles do. You can still reach Access Denied from a bookmark, a link in a message or an e-mail, or one of these header controls, which show to everyone and check your role when you open them: Multi-user management, Settings, New call (Administrator, Service Desk Manager, Dispatcher, Technician), the Q-Notice count (the roles listed for Q-Notice Center) and the override review count (Administrator, Service Desk Manager, Dispatcher, Customer Success). See Access denied and sign-in errors and Roles and access.
Switch between light and dark
Select the sun or moon button in the header to switch themes. Its hover text reads Switch to light theme or Switch to dark theme. QuantumOps starts in the dark theme. Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to other browsers and computers.
Some pages always stay dark, whatever you choose. They have no header and so no theme button:
- Dashboards, Agent Assist and their action pages when they open inside HaloPSA tabs, and the Qubit chat and call-recording matching pages opened from HaloPSA.
- The Call Taking console.
- The legacy dispatch center at
/dispatch. The Dispatch Board link in the sidebar opens inside the normal frame. - Public survey and feedback pages (CSAT and NPS), the CSAT wall screen and widget, and the QBR presentation view.
- The Access Denied and sign-in error pages.
Read notifications and pop-ups
Notifications in the header opens a list of your unread notifications, with a Message and a Date for each. Tick rows and select Mark selected as read, or select Mark all as read. The list holds notifications raised by the rules of Alert Engine (legacy), so it is often empty. Q-Notices have their own count beside it.
Short pop-up messages can also appear at the top right of the screen. They close after five seconds and are not kept in the list.
Understand the banners
Banners appear under the header on every screen. Select Dismiss to hide a banner. The update banner stays hidden, because dismissing it marks the release notes as read. The domain and AI banners can return after you reload the page. The two progress bars at the end of the list have no Dismiss button.
- QuantumOps has been updated appears after an update. What's new opens the release notes. See What's new.
- Domain verification required says how many company domains still need DNS verification before sign-in works for them. It appears only when your sign-in service uses verified domains. Fix now opens the Organization tab of Team Management, which only Administrators can open. See Importing agents and organisation settings.
- AI configuration issue says that an AI provider is switched on without an API key, so AI features may use another provider or fail. Fix now opens Tenant Settings, which only Administrators can open. See Tenant settings and AI providers and models.
- Importing historical data shows the progress of a ticket import. See Importing your ticket history.
- Optimizing semantic memories shows an older memory maintenance job while it runs. Details opens the older Semantic Memory Hub, which only Administrators can open, and Stop ends the job while it is running. See Support memory.
Open Qubit chat
The floating Chat with Qubit button, at the bottom right of most screens, opens the chat pane. See Chat with Qubit.
